Insurance
The club, and all of its members of record, is insured for $1M, 500k sub
limit against aircraft accidents. Occupants of the aircraft and any person
on the ground involved in the accident are covered. The deductible amount
for accidents that occur when the aircraft is in motion is $500. The club's
policy is that the deductible is the responsibility of the member operating
the aircraft. The deductible amount for accidents that occur when the aircraft
is not in motion is $100. The aircraft "hulls" are insured for their current
market replacement value.
Checkout policy
The club requires each member to complete a checkout for the most complex
aircrfpiaft in the fleet the member intends to fly. If a member intends
to fly the Archer, 2 hours low wing time is required. Initial checkout
in the 172RG requires 125 HR TT, and 10 hours of dual instruction, or 15
hours in other retractable gear aircraft and 2 hours in a 172RG. Initial
checkout in the Mooney requires 125 HR TT, and 2 hours on 06M, and 10 hours
of dual instruction, or 15 hours in other retractable gear aircraft.
Checkouts are required annually in club aircraft as a part of the club's
safety program (unless the member has > 400 TT). Many members extend their
club checkout to include a BFR or an IFR competency check.
Meetings
A general meeting is held each month, on the second Tuesday, at 7:30 PM
at the Livermore Airport terminal. Executive board meetings are held as
needed, usually two weeks after a general meeting. All club meetings are
open to club members and the general public.

Maintenance
Our fleet of 7 aircraft is maintained to FAR Part 95 standards. The club's
Vice President for Maintenance is responsible for making sure the club's
aircraft are properly maintained and acts as the focal point for all aircraft
"squaks".
Members of the club are responsible for making a thorough pre-flight
examination of any aircraft they intend to fly and recording any discrepancies
in the aircraft's log book. A voice-mail system is provided for reporting
of "squaks". Many problems are corrected the same day. Any member can ground
an aircraft if he or she believes the aircraft to be unairworthy.
Corporate status
The club has been granted non-profit tax exempt status by the IRS under
the Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(7). Since the club is organized
as a corporation, the liability exposure of each member is limited to the
amount of money invested in the club, which is the member deposit.
